This directory allows you to search:

• Lawyers, resident and non-resident who are members of the Law Society;
• Lawyers from other jurisdictions with a Certificate of Permission to Act in the Yukon on a particular matter;
• Lawyer by area of law (limited to those lawyers who have volunteered this information).

Members

The directory includes resident and non-resident members of the Law Society who are currently entitled to practise law in the Yukon. Articled Students are included, however, Articled Students are not permitted to practise law. The directory does not include former or suspended members.

Information concerning a lawyer’s discipline history, restrictions on his or her practice, or if there is a custodianship are noted in this directory.

Lawyers with Certificate of Permission to Act

A Certificate of Permission to Act entitles a lawyer who is not a member of the Law Society of Yukon to represent client(s) on a specific case or matter for a specific period of time. There is no limit to the number of Certificates of Permission that a lawyer may hold at one time. The Law Society may be contacted to provide clarification, subject to privacy concerns, regarding the exact matter(s) on which the lawyer is permitted to act.

Find a Lawyer by Area of Practice

The Law Society frequently receives requests from the public looking for legal assistance in a particular area of law. Lawyers entitled to practice law in the Yukon have been provided with the opportunity to voluntarily identify the areas of law in which they practice. This list is not inclusive of all lawyers who are entitled to practice law in the Yukon but includes only those who have volunteered this information. The Law Society in no way recommends or endorses the lawyers on the list. For mediation and arbitration, the lawyer also provides these services alongside their practice of law.
