Dear Member, our apologies if you have already received this information from Andrea Bailey, Director of Court Services. See below for email content concerning Court Registry hours of operation:

If you have been filing documents over the last several weeks, you’ve probably noticed that the court registry counter is understaffed. Behind the scenes, several registry employees have been pulled into roles that require them to do double or even triple duty, and, between that and some recent departures, we are starting to feel the toll. I am doing my best to staff up, but recruitment takes time and new staff require training.

As a temporary measure to ensure the current counter staff have time to properly review and enter documents, I’m making the difficult decision to reduce the hours the Supreme Court, Small Claims and Transcript windows are staffed to between 10 AM and 4 PM. The registry doors will be open at 9 AM, and there will be a box to leave filings in for review. General inquiries and criminal filings will not be affected, and we will ensure someone is available for urgent civil and family (and of course probate) matters between 9 AM and 10 AM.

I am hopeful that by providing staff an extra hour first thing in the morning, this measure will not cause you significant inconvenience. Please don’t hesitate to call or email me if you have questions or suggestions about steps we can take to meet your needs while we navigate the next several weeks; my contact information is below.

Thank you for your understanding,

Andrea Bailey
