Description:

Doors will open at 5:00. At 5:30 the Chief Justice will give a presentation followed by a curated Q & A. Please submit any questions you have to office@lawsocietyyukon.com by June 10th for consideration. There will be opportunity to socialise afterwards, with food and beverages provided.

 

Bio:

The Honourable Leonard S. Marchand was appointed Chief Justice of British Columbia in 2023. Previously, he served as a judge on the British Columbia Provincial, Supreme, and Appeal courts. As a lawyer, Chief Justice Marchand worked, among other things, on Indian Residential School survivor claims. He is Syilx and a member of the Okanagan Indian Band. He graduated law school from the University of Victoria in 1994.

 

This CPD has been approved for 2.5 hours by the Law Society of British Columbia and may be applied towards the mandatory 12 hour Continuing Professional Development requirement in both BC and Yukon.
