Presenter: Sandy Kovacs is a leading personal injury lawyer in Vancouver, British Columbia. She is also a member of the Law Society of Yukon. Her practice includes litigating complex claims arising from motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, and historical sexual assault. She is an adjunct professor at the UBC Allard School of Law, teaching Law 435C “Personal Injury Law”. Ms. Kovacs’s recent trial results include Anderson v. Molon, 2020 BCSC 1247, a historical sexual abuse claim in direct negligence against the Roman Catholic Church in which record punitive damages were awarded; and Uy v. Dhillon, 2020 BCSC 1302, where she achieved a record damages award for the severely brain-injured plaintiff, in excess of $9 million.
This CPD has been approved for 1.5 hours by the Law Society of British Columbia and may be applied towards the mandatory 12 hour Continuing Professional Development requirement in both BC and Yukon.
