Description: Yukon First Nations 101 was developed to educate people about the culture and history of the First Nations Peoples of the Yukon; the cultural values shared among Yukon First Nations today; and how to communicate respectfully with First Nation individuals and communities. This course has been vetted by the 14 Yukon First Nations.

As part of Truth and Reconciliations Commission of Canada’s Call to Action #27, join us in a live-streamed Zoom event for two-half day sessions that includes interactive activities, discussions and presentations by staff in the Yukon First Nations Initiatives department at Yukon University.

The Law Society of Yukon recommends members take training on Indigenous history, traditions and laws as a necessary part of being competent to practice law in the Yukon.

This CPD has been approved for 7.0 hours by the Law Society of British Columbia and may be applied towards the mandatory 12 hour Continuing Professional Development requirement in both BC and Yukon. This course is subsidized $190.00 per member by the Law Society of Yukon.
