The IBA is collecting information about women’s experience in law – in all legal sectors, (including the judiciary), in all countries and of any age – to understand the challenges, opportunities and to learn more about what is or is not working.
The survey findings will be presented and discussed at a session in Toronto in November at the annual IBA conference and will build on the IBA’s 2017 report (based on 6,000 responses from female practitioners).
The IBA will also publish a report setting out the results and are hoping that thousands of female practitioners will help to generate rich data from which to draw important conclusions and identify good practice. At present, they only have 44 responses from Canada, and they are keen to increase this number substantially. Anything you can do to spread the word and encourage women in the legal profession to complete the survey is appreciated!
