Law Society of YukonOn November 15, 2023, the Executive voted to approve amendments to “Schedule B – Fees” and “Annexe B – Droit” of the Rules of the Law Society of Yukon.
The fee increases will come into effect on January 1, 2024 and apply to all membership renewals for the 2024 membership year. For clarity, the amended ‘Schedule B – fees’ and ‘Annexe B – Droit’ will apply to:
• all applications for renewal of membership for the 2024 membership year;
• all applications for membership received by the Law Society of Yukon after December 31, 2023;
• all applications for Professional Corporation Permits received by the Law Society of Yukon after December 31, 2023; and
• all Certificates of Standing requested after December 31, 2023.
The fee increase is necessary to allow for investments in infrastructure, staff and technology, and to ensure the fiscal sustainability of the Law Society of Yukon in upholding its mandate and services to members and the public.
