Description: Panelists will discuss both adult protection and guardianship law and procedure, and ways you can help your clients reduce risk by planning ahead.
Presenters:
Cindy Freedman – Counsel for the Public Guardian and Trustee – Cindy was called to the Bar of Alberta in 1991. She joined the Whitehorse office of Justice Canada in 1996 and Legal Services Branch, Yukon Government in 2009. Since 2020, she has acted as counsel for the Public Guardian and Trustee.
Lenore Morris – Member of the Whitehorse Private Bar – Lenore is a solicitor, litigator and sole practitioner since 2007 with a practice that includes Estate Planning. She was called to the Yukon and BC bars in 2001.
Kyla Gifford – Public Guardian & Trustee – Kyla joined the office of the Public Guardian and Trustee in 2021. She has been with Yukon Government since 2004 and has worked in front-line health care settings and health policy.
Tina Bunce – Manager, Adult Protection – Tina has worked the past 27 years with Yukon Government within both Health & Social Services and Justice supporting vulnerable individuals across the lifespan whose lives have been impacted by abuse or neglect. For the past 10 years Tina has worked at Adut Protection Services and has been the Manager of the unit for the past 3 years. In her free time, Tina can be found digging in her garden or practicing yoga.
This CPD has been approved for 1.5 hours by the Law Society of British Columbia and may be applied towards the mandatory 12 hour Continuing Professional Development requirements.
