The evolving tort of harassment and a discussion of the foundational decision of Justice Feasby in Alberta Health Services v Johnston, 2023 ABKB 209.

Bio:

J. Mark Jackson, KC has a legal practice focused on health law litigation, hospital-physician relationships, post-graduate medical education matters, and advising health care organizations on policy, governance, and contract issues. He is a member of the bar and engaged in a broad range of health care-related issues on behalf of public and private sector clients in Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories.

Mark’s legal practice is divided between representing health care organizations facing complex medical malpractice claims and supporting medical leadership, medical advisory committees, and health authority boards, in their designated roles under medical staff Bylaws and Rules.

Mark regularly represents clients in medical malpractice litigation, hearings, inquests, appeals, and fatality inquiries and provides advice on quality assurance processes and clinical issues, policies, standards of care and risk management.

This CPD has been approved by the Law Society of British Columbia and may be applied towards the mandatory 12 hour Continuing Professional Development requirement in both BC and Yukon.
